This site has approximately 70 profibus actuators, of the Rotork Q, AQ, and IQ type making it the largest profibus site of its type in the UK. A complete SCADA system has been installed giving a full system overview from the control room. The PLC system on the site is of the Omron C200 range. The communications on the site is via a dual redundant fibre optic loop, which reduced greatly the number of control cables on the site, and also gives a high immunity to lightning strikes which are prevalent in the area.
This contract involved the refurbishment and extension of an existing water treatment works, situated 7 miles north of Cookstown, Co Tyrone. The contract was awarded under a 52 week MF1 contract by Water Service Design Group 5. The phased construction included

Refurbishment of 4 existing primary filters and
