Williams Industrial Services Limited And Consortia To Play Major Role In Water Service Wastewater Framework

The DRD Water Service has recently announced the official commencement of the Integrated Wastewater Framework. It will allow Water Service to initiate the construction of projects more efficiently, assisting in the delivery of the major programme of infrastructure upgrades planned for the next few years. £400 million will be spent in Northern Ireland until 2008 upgrading wastewater treatment works and sewers.

Williams Industrial Services are proud to announce that we are the only Northern Ireland-based M&E contractor to have been awarded a place on the Wastewater Framework, confirming the quality of projects already delivered to Water Service by WIS and our engineering consortia.

Williams Industrial Services have been appointed to deliver major projects in conjunction with our engineering partners for the Southern Region within Northern Ireland. The engineering consortia for the Southern Region also consists of local companies BSG Engineering (formerly S Gillan) and Doran Consulting and process suppliers Severn Trent Water Purification Limited and Kee Process. This well-established consortia has proven itself successful over recent years by delivering numerous value-engineered wastewater projects for Water Service. Various treatment technologies have been utilised by the consortia such as SBR (sequencing batch reactor) and CAS (conventional activated sludge), with excellent results. Details of some of these completed projects are available in the 'Projects' section of this website.

Consortia projects with WIS involvement which are not within the framework but which are currently nearing completion or are under-construction include; Waringstown WWTW, Glenavy WWTW, Cookstown WWTW, Greysteel WWTW and a number of smaller sites which use RBC (rotating biological contactor) technology. Similar projects to these on the framework for the Southern Region will be designed and constructed by the engineering consortia and will be commencing in 2005. Please keep visiting this website for regular up-dates on the progress of these projects.
